There has always been a lot of confusion and uncertainty surrounding the “cool dude” badge. Throughout the history of the forum, some users have earned it extremely quickly. Others have been members for more than a year without receiving it.
Could this be due to the total lack of coolness? Or could it be something else…
I feel that the redundancy and effort required to award this badge greatly outweighs any possible benefits granted by this badge.
Who really can say whether you’re cool or not? Is that really something for a single person to decide? I don’t think so…
I think that this badge should be removed, because it’s exceedingly redundant, and a waste of effort.
Not to be mean but I almost feel like the was written cause you don’t have cool dude. Cool dude is achieved mostly by being a good member in the community and staying here for long periods of time.
We (mods) have discussions on who should get cool dude, and majority needs to agree on who gets it.
If you haven’t gotten cool dude yet, please be patient and I’m sure you’ll get it someday if you keep being a cool dude
It wasn’t, it’s just my genuine feeling on the badge for once (lol), but I feel like it doesn’t really add that much to the forum and also that it’s really unnecessary, because it doesn’t really have any meaning
If that was the case, we could also get rid of other badges like new user of the month, it’s mostly just a cool little bonus for being a good member of the community I guess.
Yeah however I feel this one is quite different because it encourages new users to become an active member of the forum, whereas cool dude is just kind of…there.
I feel the like cool dude is mostly never passed out. I think the mods should be more generous with the title as there are many cool people on the forum
