Energy Saver HALVES FPS?

so just now i discovered something…google’s energy saver HALVES your fps in swordbattle.io.

basically, energy saver activates automatically when your battery gets low (like mine is now lol).

and in most websites, energy saver on makes no difference! for example, the forum. i had energy saver on for almost 10 minutes in the forum before i went on swordbattle.io and noticed it was on due to my fps.

it was so drastic, too…

my normal fps is around 60fps, but when energy saver was on it was reduced to 30fps- half of my original fps . even when i turned off anti-ailasing, my fps still stayed at around 37 with a huge in-game quality decrease.

so anyways, what do you all think about this?

Yeah I don’t even need to add anything because this is the exact case for every browser/os battery saver even down to how it exactly drops it to 30fps, but I just play with a charger in my computer at all times to fix this problem

Should be better in v2 (wrt quality at least) but yeah it does cap your fps, it should happen on all games not just sb

yeah i agree it affects (visually) pretty much all game-type things, websites not so much.

I mean, it saves energy for a reason. I would be surprised if it didn’t have a drawback like this

Must be a feature of Google’s Energy Saver, drawing less frames appears to save energy.
