This is the official changelog for Swordbattle.io, highlighting significant changes or fixes in game code and updates.

For a major update, I will make a new topic for the community to discuss it, but this topic is just to track everything that happened and I will post links to update topics here as well for historical purposes.

Posts will be in chronological order, with the bottom posts being the most recent updates.

Updates before V2 were not recorded, so will not be shown here. You can check Manage’s Changelog for a partial recap of the V1 changes.

  • Added basic moderation & banning system to prevent botters
  • Bot mechanics changed - now automatically reduce when real player count increases
  • Default health of players reduced from 120 to 80
  • Health buff increment has increased from 1.2 to 1.25
  • Added Changelog link to footer

  • Moved server selector to the home screen (out of settings)
  • New Forum card added showing top 3 swordbattle Forum topics in past week
  • New profile card with gem count (more stats like rankings coming soon!)
  • Fixed bug with IP detection & ban system
  • Progress from 1/27/2024 erased (due to botting)
  • Captcha bug fixes + verification implemented for Game server
  • Minor shop improvements and added text explaining OG skins

Updated back to latest version, reverting didn’t help at all

  • Removed rocks to see if that might help

  • Pushed a hotfix for the swordbattle memory leak, it is not confirmed to be fixed yet promising right now
  • Increased regen delay to 5 seconds
  • Balanced evols with inspiration from this post

PS:
This release caused a few new issues, mainly with bots going to the edge, ‘Stabbed’ messages not showing when you kill someone, and a broken death screen. I am working on this and hope to fix soon. Sorry for the inconvenience! (The serverside is still working correctly, and to my knowledge game saving and stats are still working correctly)

  • Tank regen cooldown is no longer bugged (a HUGE pvp improvement)
  • Bots less aggro, they will give up fighting a target after a while
  • Chest health+drops revamped
  • Moose is back!
  • Rocks are back!

Known bug:
Death page has still not been fixed yet. I’ll fix it soon.
